To React or Respond? - #TuesdayThoughts

Hi ,

It's Tuesday, October 24, 2017

Okay, what is the difference? Let's think about this in terms of a conversation.

After researching the subject, I have found a common theme:

A reaction is something that is almost instantaneous, a way out without worrying or considering the after effects. A response is a bit more thoughtful; you think for a minute and weigh your choices. You will also consider what the consequences could be - good or bad.

Learning to respond rather than react in the appropriate situation will take some work, if you're not use to it. Just like everything else in life, we develop our skills by using them.

So the next time you are in a conversation and the other person expects you to react, take a breath before you respond. You might find a whole new way of communicating.

Have a wonderful day and take care!

Love and blessings,

Marlene
