While watching the news last night, I saw that Kirk Douglas passed away. As they were rolling through clips of his life, he said the above message to everyone.

This handsome movie star, best known for his iconic role in Spartacus, almost become more well-known for having survived a stoke in 1996.

He didn't let his "limitations" stop him from acting in 2 more films where he used his impaired speech to bring life and reality to these roles.

I think the message to all of us is this - no matter what you've been handed in life, be brave. There have been times when I was pushed to the edge and wasn't brave initially. I learned to mourn and grieve for what I lost and then get on with life and appreciate all that was still there.

Everyone will have those moments when they are tested, when it seems impossible to move forward. But that is how life goes and you can make the best of each and every day you're given. Don't give up.
